Worship at Tree of Life Congregation

Shabbat Evening Service

Our Shabbat Evening Services begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evenings in the sanctuary. Since the start of the pandemic, we have moved our worship to Zoom. We offer meaningful, spiritual, and educational worship experiences in an environment that is warm and welcoming. We use Mishkan Tefilah, the prayerbook of the Reform Movement. Prayers are recited both in Hebrew and in English.

Music is an important part of our services. Peter Haley is our cantorial soloist. Melodies range from traditional to modern and vary week to week.

Our Shabbat Evening Service generally includes a Torah service, as well as a sermon or D’var Torah (Torah teaching) by Rabbi Meyer. We also include a special prayer for healing for all those who are ill. If you would like to request a name to be added to our healing list, please contact the Temple office.

Our services are participatory – we encourage everyone to join in. All are welcome to worship services at Tree of Life. Our festive Oneg Shabbat reception will resume in the Reyner Family Social Hall when in-person gatherings are safe.

Please note that the time may change for special services or holiday services.

Shabbat Morning Service

About every six weeks, we offer a Shabbat Morning Service at 10:30 a.m. During this morning service we call our bnai mitzvah to the Torah. After years of study in our Religious School, the bnai mitzvah lead prayers, read Torah and deliver a brief teaching (d'rash). These services are a wonderful opportunity for our community to celebrate with the bnai mitzvah families. All are welcome.

Tot Shabbat

Tot Shabbat is a special way for our youngest children (ages 1–12 years old) and their families to welcome Shabbat at TOL. We begin with singing and a short service in the chapel, followed by grape juice and cookies. Tot Shabbat is led by Rabbi Meyer. It is a wonderful “first service” for our kids, and a great way for the kids and parents to get to know each other at Temple.Tot Shabbat usually takes place on the third Friday evening of the month at 6 p.m.

Kabbalat Shabbat Service with the TOL Band

This is our special early Shabbat service held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Friday of the month. It is a joyful, participatory worship experience with lots of music. Come as you are and enjoy this special one-hour early service for all ages.

For more information or if you have any questions, please contact the temple office.
