Sisterhood
"My long involvement in the Tree of Life Congregation, especially through Sisterhood, has been a source of fulfillment and connection throughout my life." - Donna Magaro, Sisterhood Member
Good Friends...Great Vibes...Even Better Purpose
The Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) Sisterhood chapter at Tree of Life serves the congregation and community. An affiliate of WRJ’s Southeast District, our mission is to bring together women to serve Tree of Life, support our community and enrich our lives through social events, educational and spirtual programs, fundraising and community service.
Who we are:
- We are younger, older, and in-between.
- We are new to Columbia, and we have lived here for many years.
- We are TOL members and non-members.
- We are Jews by birth, Jews by choice and Jewish-adjacent.
- We learn from each other, and we each share our time, talent and spirit.
- We work together to support our congregation and to build partnerships internally, in the greater Columbia area and throughout the state of South Carolina.
For more information about Sisterhood membership, contact Kim Bannister , Membership Chair, or any of our officers.
Treasures from the Judaica Shop
The gift shop is also open by appointment at (803) 781-9791.
The TOL Sisterhood is responsible for management of the gift shop, Treasures from the Tree. We offer the only Jewish gift shop in Columbia. Treasures from the Tree has everything you need to celebrate Jewish rituals, life cycle events, and simchas. It carries a wide range of Judaica and gifts.
All proceeds from the shop benefit projects and events of the Tree of Life Sisterhood and the congregation.
For more information, contact Donna Magaro, Gift Shop Manager.
