EXPLORE OUR CURRICULUM

At Tree of Life Religious School, our students and their families are engaged in Jewish learning and meaningful experiences that inspire them to appreciate and proudly celebrate being Jewish in our community and in today’s world. The V’ahavta tells us, “Teach your children.” Teaching our Jewish children is a sacred endeavor.

We recognize and respect the diversity of our students. We know each child brings unique interests, skills, personal challenges, and family backgrounds to our classrooms. These differences enrich our classrooms and challenge the school faculty to create learning opportunities that are engaging and challenging. We strive to fulfill our Reform Jewish traditions by encouraging students to think about and question ideas and find answers that are meaningful for them.

We view our task as helping students begin a personal journey to find meaning that works for them from our vast Jewish teachings—our traditions, sacred texts, values and ethics, spirituality, history, Hebrew, as well as our connection to Israel. Through a range of developmentally-appropriate experiences, we help our students and their families experience the richness of Judaism and develop a passion for lifelong Jewish learning and living.

We foster friendships between students and across generations while building a sense of community. Our students develop relationships with their classmates, teachers, and students of all ages since worship, celebrations, and other activities occur school-wide during our assembly and worship period. We live the value of kehillah—our congregational community—as we strive to provide our students with the foundation for proudly navigating life as Jews in a secular community.
